Beginner Guide: First Match & Career Screen
Learn how to navigate the Be a Soccer Legend career dashboard, read prematch target cards, and choose between matches and training early on.
Reading Your Main Career Screen
When you load into Be a Soccer Legend, you begin as a young talent at a smaller club and manage your rise from a central career hub. Before jumping straight into kickoff, take a moment to read the navigation tabs and status panels on your main screen so you know where your club stands.
In a recorded Season 1 save, the main dashboard displays seven primary navigation buttons: Play, Training, Career, Table, Cups, Schedule, and Ranking. That same recording shows a player at Clayton FC with an OVR of 51 during Season 1, Week 1/18. Your own starting club, OVR, or schedule length may differ depending on your save or game updates, so treat those numbers as a layout example rather than a fixed starting rule.
- Play: Opens the next match overview in the reviewed footage.
- Training: Opens the observed Finishing, Passing and Set Pieces menu.
- Career, Table, Cups, Schedule and Ranking: Visible navigation buttons to inspect for current career information. The detailed contents of every tab were not reviewed.
What to Check Before Your First Match
Pressing Play takes you to a prematch overview screen before you touch the ball. Reading this card carefully is one of the most important habits you can build as a beginner because match objectives change depending on the fixture.
The reviewed prematch card breaks down the fixture into three vital lines: Goal chances, To win, and Misses allowed, followed by the Start button. For example, one recorded Iberia Cup fixture lists Home/Away teams alongside Goal chances: 4, To win: ALL 4, and Misses allowed: NONE. That specific cup tie leaves zero room for error, while other matches may give you a softer buffer.
- Check Goal chances to see how many attacking sequences you will get during the match.
- Compare Goal chances against the To win requirement so you know how many sequences must end in a goal.
- Look at Misses allowed to see whether you can afford a saved shot or an intercepted pass.
- Once on the pitch, watch the on-screen action prompt above the play to see whether the game calls for a shot, a cross, or a through ball.
When play starts, remember the core control rule from the official game description: where your line ends, the ball goes. If a teammate is making a run into space, draw your line to the grass ahead of them rather than directly at a defender. If you have an open look at the net, end your line inside the goal frame away from the goalkeeper.
Choosing Your Next Step After Week 1
Reviewed gameplay returns to the hub between fixtures as the calendar advances. By Season 1, Week 4/18 in recorded gameplay, the dashboard shows how your actions accumulate: the player's club rating at Clayton FC sits at OVR 54, sitting at Rank 2 with 7 points in English League Two alongside a Lionheart Cup fixture, backed by an 8.4 average rating, 3 goals, and 3 assists.
Use three simple checks between weeks to decide what to do next. First, open the Training menu whenever drills are available so you can steadily fill your +1 OVR boxes toward the +0/12 Training OVR counter. Second, check the Table and Cups screens to see if an upcoming match is a standard league game or a high-pressure cup tie. Finally, visit the Career tab to monitor how your goals, assists, and average match rating are progressing as you work toward bigger club offers.
